Ernesto Hidalgo brings 15 years of experience in finance, real estate, and community development to his role at Renaissance. Mr. Hidalgo’s professional experience includes leading projects, creating programs, and providing oversight with municipalities, community redevelopment agencies, and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development to structure acquisitions, coordinate environmental studies and entitlements, and further economic and community-based development.
Prior to joining Renaissance Downtowns USA, Ernesto was President of Civic Impact Group, a California Benefit Corporation, where he worked on projects that advance organizations’ strengths and mission to the community. He has helped to develop programs and partnerships, coordinate volunteers and public relations, and manage projects for organizations such as the City of Los Angeles, Loyola Marymount University, American Red Cross and the City of Montebello. Ernesto serves as chairperson on the boards of the City of Los Angeles Neighborhood Council Sustainability Alliance and Metro’s Local Service Council. He also serves on LA City’s Rent Adjustment Commission, Los Angeles Department of Water and Power 100% Renewable Energy Working Group, Boyle Heights Neighborhood Council’s Planning and Land Use Committee, and with the GreenLatinos national environmental and conservation advocacy nonprofit.
